Snow has fallen. Time to drink a hot tea with jam, keep your feet warm and wear mittens.
Luciano will provide you tea at least!
Berries or fruits and fragrant spices in every teapot. And of course – jam. It’s not that simple jam here at Luciano: it’s made by monks of Zadonskiy Nativity Virgin Monastery, which is situated in the middle of Lipetsk wildlife park. Jam is made of polunitsa –a sweet meadow strawberry, aronia – chokeberry with a slightly tart taste. It’s also made of small white plum and hawthorn, every berry is cut in a half to take out the seeds carefully, leaving only tender and tasty parts. Local wild berries are collected by monks or often brought by neighbors. Only the wild dogwood berries is brought form Elbrus. This jam usually comes out in a color of ruby, viscous like honey and very fragrant. At Luciano this jam is mixed with jasmine tea and fresh berries. Jam made of aronia is usually mixed with spiced tea flavored with cinnamon, anise, thyme, curry, and a little bit of black pepper.
